Intro

Audi builds luxurious and well-built vehicles. They also build some very quick vehicles. We have seen these quick and luxurious vehicles getting quicker and more luxurious over the years. But which are the quickest accelerating Audis in history? To determine this, we looked at published 0 to 60 mph times over the years and found the ten quickest Audis ever. It probably will not come as a surprise that most of them are current models. If you are looking to buy a new Audi in 2023 you have several very quick options to choose from.

10. 2023 Audi SQ7 – 3.5 Seconds

The fact that the slowest car on this list hits 60 mph in 3.5 seconds is mind boggling. The fact that it is an SUV is even more impressive. But that is what happens when you put a 4.0L twin-turbocharged V-8 making 500-hp under the hood. The quick shifting 8-speed Tiptronic transmission and quattro all-wheel drive system helps the SQ7 achieve this impressive performance.

9. 2024 Audi RS5 Competition — 3.4 Seconds

The RS5 Competition makes less power than the SQ7 but it is significantly lighter and that helps it be a bit quicker to 60. And it is not like the RS5 Competition is under powered. It features a twin-turbocharged V-6 that spits out 444-hp and nearly an identical amount of torque. And this car doesn’t slow down once it hits 60. The top speed is 180 mph.

8. 2022 Audi TT RS — 3.4 Seconds

The last Audi TT RS tested hit 60 in 3.4 seconds which ties it with the RS5 Competition. The TT RS made 400-hp from a turbocharged inline-5 engine. 2023 marks the final model year for the Audi TT, and we are all sad to see it go. It is a stylish and quick car that will be looked back on with fond memories for years.

7. 2023 Audi RS3 Sedan 3.3 Seconds

The current Audi RS3 Sedan is a pint-sized rocket ship. The 2.5L turbocharged inline-5 engine squeezes out 401-hp. That power is routed through a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The result is a blistering 3.3 seconds to 60 mph. Starting at under $62K this Audi is a bargain considering the blistering performance.

6. 2023 Audi RS Q8 – 3.2 Seconds

The RS Q8 costs double the price of the RS3 but you also get a vehicle that offers nearly double the space and is somehow even quicker than the RS3. The RS Q8 comes with a twin-turbocharged V-8 that puts out a staggering 591-hp. The big SUV weighs over 5,500 pounds but hits 60 mph in a physics-defying 3.2 seconds. If you need to get yourself, your family, and your dog to the country club in a hurry, the RS Q8 is a great choice.

5. 2023 Audi S8 — 3.2 Seconds

Here we have a beautiful and understated sedan that will blow the doors off unsuspecting motorists. Other drivers on the road are unlikely to know that you have a 563-hp twin-turbo V-8 hiding under the hood. But the secret will be out the moment you mash the gas pedal to the floor, and you arrive at 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds.

4. 2023 Audi RS7 Performance — 3.0 Seconds

The Audi RS7 Performance packs a wallop. Under the hood is a 621-hp twin-turbo V-8 engine. It will get you to 60 mph in three seconds flat. It will keep pushing until you see 190 mph on the speedometer. And the RS7 Performance is not just a straight line wonder. The adaptive air suspension and sport rear differential will help you tackle the curves as well.

3. 2023 Audi RS6 Avant – 2.9 Seconds

To make it on the podium for the quickest Audis of all time list you need to hit 60 mph in under 3 seconds. And the current RS6 Avant does just that. Take the same engine from the RS7 Performance and stick it under the hood of the RS6 Avant and you have one of the quickest and coolest wagons in the world.

2. 2023 Audi RS e-tron GT – 2.9 Seconds

The only EV to make the list lands just shy of the top spot. The Audi RS e-tron GT hits 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds. The all-electric sedan makes 637-hp with a 93-kWh battery. And all the torque comes on immediately. No waiting for turbos to spool up here. The sudden and violent acceleration can take your breath away. And no one will hear you coming.

1. 2017 Audi R8 V10 Plus — 2.6 Seconds

The quickest car on the list is actually the oldest. The 610-hp 413 lb-ft 5.2-litre DOHC 40-valve V10 Audi R8 was timed at a staggering 2.6 seconds to 60 mph. It took you longer to read that last sentence. The incredible Audi R8 is leaving us this year, and the automotive world is losing one of the best super cars ever. The good news is that we know Audi will keep building amazing cars and this top ten list will probably look completely different in a couple years.
